Not every clinical evaluation carries the same weight.
When your case depends on a defensible clinical opinion, experience, objectivity, and thorough documentation matter. You need an independent evaluator whose role is objective analysis, not ongoing treatment.
Every opinion is built on objective findings, sound clinical reasoning, and evidence, not advocacy.
Discuss a CaseWhy Good Cases Become Weak Cases
One of the most common reasons strong cases become weak cases isn't the injury. It's the documentation.
In personal injury and workers' compensation cases, I repeatedly see two issues that undermine otherwise legitimate claims:
Two Issues That Repeatedly Undermine Otherwise Legitimate Claims
- 01 Treatment recommendations exceed the objective clinical findings
- 02 Documentation cannot withstand medicolegal scrutiny
Documentation Problems That Undermine Credibility
- Treatment plans unsupported by objective findings
- Weak or incomplete causation analysis
- Inconsistent examination findings
- Poor progression documentation
- Opinions that extend beyond the available clinical evidence
My role is not to advocate for either side.
My role is to evaluate the available evidence objectively and provide opinions grounded in the clinical record, accepted standards of care, and the available evidence.
That's what makes an opinion defensible.

Why This Practice
For nearly two decades, I have evaluated complex spine and musculoskeletal injuries including personal injury and worker's compensation cases. That experience allows me to recognize the difference between documentation that strengthens a case and documentation that weakens it.
Every opinion I provide reflects the same clinical reasoning I apply in practice, with the additional discipline required for medicolegal review.
Certified Independent Clinical Evaluator
The CICE credential represents formal training in independent medicolegal evaluation, AMA Guides methodology, impairment rating, and the documentation standards required in legal proceedings.
For attorneys and carriers, that means reports written to the standard your cases require, not simply the standard that is easiest to produce.
Objectivity is the foundation of an independent clinical examination.
My opinions follow the clinical evidence, not the party who retained me. That's what makes them credible and defensible.
