A Clear Picture Before You Walk In.
You shouldn't have to guess what your first appointment involves, or wonder what a follow-up visit actually looks like six weeks in. Here is exactly what happens, from your first call to your ongoing care.
What Actually Happens at Your First Appointment
Plan for 60 minutes for a complex pain or EDS evaluation, or 45 minutes for a sports injury or general chiropractic evaluation. If treatment happens the same day, plan on 2 to 2.5 hours total for complex/EDS visits, or 1 to 1.5 hours total for sports/general visits. Nothing here is rushed.
Check-In and History
You'll fill out intake paperwork covering your history, current symptoms, prior treatment, and what you're hoping to get out of care. If you completed forms online ahead of time, this step is quick.
Your Story, In Your Words
Dr. Addison sits down with you before any hands-on exam. This is where you walk through what's actually going on, what you've already tried, and what hasn't worked. No rushing through it to get to treatment.
The Evaluation
A hands-on assessment of movement, stability, and the areas involved. If you're bringing imaging or prior records, this is where they get reviewed alongside what we find in the room.
Findings and Plan
Before you leave, you'll hear what we found in plain language and what we recommend as a next step. Some patients begin treatment that same day. Others need a bit more workup first, and we'll tell you exactly why if that's the case.
Evaluation: 60 min (complex/EDS) or 45 min (sports/general). Same-day treatment: 2–2.5 hrs total (complex/EDS) or 1–1.5 hrs total (sports/general)How We Decide What Comes Next
Your plan comes directly from what we find at your evaluation, not a standard protocol applied to everyone who walks through the door.
How You Receive It
You'll hear your plan verbally at the end of your first visit, and it's followed up in writing so you have something to reference at home.
What It Includes
A recommended course of care for the first phase, which therapies fit your situation, and a realistic sense of what to expect and by when.
How Often You'll Be Seen
Frequency depends entirely on what's being treated. Complex or long-standing cases often start more frequently, then taper as things stabilize.
It's Not Fixed
Plans get revisited as you progress. If something isn't working the way we expected, we adjust rather than staying the course out of habit.
What a Typical Treatment Visit Looks Like
Follow-up visits vary in length depending on what's being treated, from quick focused sessions to longer therapy blocks.
Hands-On / Adjustment Visits
Brief check-in on how you've been since your last visit, followed by adjustment and soft tissue work as needed. Usually the quickest visit type.
FSM Sessions
You'll settle into a reclining chair with wet-towel electrodes placed for the session. FSM visits run 1 to 2 hours depending on your specific needs, and many patients find the sessions genuinely relaxing.
Shockwave & Cold Laser
Shorter, targeted sessions focused on the specific area involved, usually 15 to 20 minutes.
As You Progress
Visit frequency typically decreases over time, and home programs get layered in so progress continues between appointments.
Straightforward Answers on Cost
We'd rather tell you upfront than have you find out mid-treatment.
Insurance
We are in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Aetna, and Cigna. Auto accident and workers' compensation cases are typically billed through the applicable claim.
Cash-Pay Services
FSM and select advanced therapies are cash pay. We'll walk through cost clearly before any treatment begins, with no surprises on your statement.
New Patient Exam: $200.00
Adjustment / Office Visit: $70.00
Shockwave Therapy: $90.00 per region standalone, or $45.00 as an add-on with an Adjustment/Office Visit

A Few Things Patients Often Ask
How long is a first visit at Addison Chiropractic & Sports Clinic?
Evaluation alone runs 45 minutes for sports injury or general chiropractic care, or 60 minutes for complex pain and EDS. If you're treated the same day, plan on 1 to 1.5 hours total for sports/general, or 2 to 2.5 hours total for complex/EDS.
Do I need a diagnosis before my first appointment?
No. Many patients come in without a clear diagnosis. Just bring what you know, and we'll take it from there.
Does insurance cover FSM therapy?
FSM is a cash-pay service. We discuss cost clearly before treatment begins so there are no surprises.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Any relevant imaging or diagnostic results, a list of current medications, prior treatment records, and your insurance card if applicable.
