How Much Does Chiropractic Care Cost After a Car Accident? Here Are Your Three Options.

You're sitting in your car after the accident, or maybe you're a few days out and the soreness is just starting to set in, and somewhere underneath the pain there's another question running in the background: who is paying for this?

That question matters. We're not going to pretend it doesn't, or make you dig through three phone calls to get an answer. Here's exactly how it works, because you deserve to know this before you ever show up for an exam.

There are three ways patients pay for care after an auto accident, and which one fits you depends on your situation.

Option one: You're working with an attorney.

If you have a personal injury attorney, your care goes on a lien. That means the financial responsibility comes off of you and moves onto the case itself. You're not paying out of pocket, you're not getting bills while you're trying to heal, and the clinic gets paid once your case resolves. This is the most common path for patients who were clearly not at fault and are pursuing a claim.

Option two: You're billing your insurance.

We're in-network with Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare. If you have coverage through one of these and you're not going the attorney route, insurance will cover most of the cost of chiropractic treatment related to an auto accident. This is often the simplest option if your case doesn't involve a lien or you'd rather not wait on a settlement.

Option three: Cash pay.

If neither of the above applies to your situation, here's exactly what you'd pay. A new patient exam is $200.00. Follow-up chiropractic visits are $70.00 each. If your case calls for shockwave therapy, that's $45.00 alongside an adjustment or $90.00 on its own. Cold laser is $25.00 alongside an adjustment or $50.00 standalone.

Which one is right for you?

Honestly, that depends on the details of your accident and whether you're working with an attorney yet. If you're not sure which category you fall into, that's a completely normal place to be a few days after a wreck, and it's exactly the kind of thing worth a quick call instead of guessing. We can walk through your specific situation and tell you plainly what your cost looks like before you commit to anything.

What we actually do once you're here

This isn't just adjustments and a goodbye. We document everything thoroughly from the first visit, because if your case does involve an attorney, that documentation matters: initial evaluation notes, ongoing treatment records, causation analysis, and impairment ratings under the AMA Guides where applicable. If you need a narrative report built to support a claim, that's part of how we practice, not an afterthought we scramble for later.

We also coordinate directly with orthopedists, pain management, neurologists, or whoever else is involved in your care, so nothing gets lost between providers and your documentation stays consistent across the board. And if your case eventually needs deposition or trial testimony, Dr. Addison is available for that, with clinical opinions built to hold up under oath.

You came out of an accident already dealing with enough uncertainty. The cost of getting care shouldn't be one more thing you're left guessing about.
